Silk Scarves Takuyo

Silk Shawl, Red and Pink Maiko Bouquet

The spherical bouquet design is inspired by a Maiko's kimono. Maiko are the young ladies who aspired to be an artisan Kyoto geisha. Maiko (舞妓) translates to ‘dancing girl’ or ‘child’, and refers to apprentice geiko. They wear lovely brightly colored kimonos. If you ever visit Kyoto, Japan the oldest capital in Japan, visit Gion district. You might bump into the authentic Maiko ladies.
