I am proud to be a part of a community of artists and designers and I enjoy collaborating with them every chance I get. It has been such a pleasure to work together with many gifted professionals on our Island, in the U.S., Europe, and Japan to build the Silk Takuyo brand and website. I’m happy to introduce some of them here:
Born and raised on Kauai with 5 sisters and 4 brothers, Keani (@keaniandrade) is great with people. Her love for her Island home is expressed in everything she does. A talented photographer, her inspiring and romantic photographs bring out the true beauty of her subjects: people and Kauai.
Dodger (@dodgermiddlebrook), born and raised on Kauai, is an awesome videographer and photographer whose exciting, fearless, and vibrant work captures real people living the authentic Island life. He is currently in his second year at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, CA.
Akira (@akiratakahashii) is an avid surfer and a free diver. He uses a traditional Japanese Gyotaku method as a way of honoring the fish he catches. Based on overwhelming local demand for his original prints, he now offers apparel for men and women all over the world.
Aileen is a New York-based multidisciplinary artist and designer. Her diverse talent as a graphic designer includes art direction, logo design, and photo-retouching expertise. Following her true passion as an artist, she has been creating wonderful paintings, cut paper art, and watercolors. See her online portfolio here.
Liz is a wonderful and talented photographer. Her work is dreamy, uplifting, and magical. Her sense of story-telling within her work is mesmerizing. You can find more of her work on Instagram at @lizzyonkauai.
